Mantelpiece pendulum clock with an empire style case, with spring tension. The mechanism has an anchor escapement, with a short pendulum with a solid lens. The dial is covered with white enamel and secured with convex clock glass. There are three holes in the dial, for the handles of the movement, the striking of hours and quarters, respectively (original key). Striking mechanism with two cup bells. The box that covers the mechanism has an openwork finish, which allows the sound to propagate. The base is cuboidal, with four brass legs, decorated with a motif of two sphinxes holding a vase filled with acanthus leaves and vine stems. In addition, the base is decorated with dolphin and snake motifs. The clock is set on four “lion paw” style legs. At the top, there is a goblet with flowers.
